Steps to reproduce:

using newly updated FF23.0, did addons check;  said vlc plugin v2_0_6 was out of date;  downloaded vlc, quit FF and installed vlc v2_0_8, rerun FF


Actual results:

still shows old vlc 2_0_6 addin present and "outdated";
again quit ff, waited 10sec, reloaded... same result..


Expected results:

prior versions auto updated FF plugins..., not clear if issues is FF or VLC.

Need way to eliminate unwanted plugins.

You really have a VLC plugin installed that has version 2.0.6. So it looks like either you got the wrong installer, the plugin failed to install properly or VLC did not bump the version to 2.0.8.

Either way, you should report this to VLC.
