I would like the latest version of Python 3 installed on this machine.
Are you sure that nothing that depends on python will break if upgrade to python 3? Also, RHEL 6.x does not have a python 3 package so it will need to be built from source or obtain from a different repo. Current python version is 2.6.6

Let's put this Python version upgrade on hold for the time being until I have time to look into it again. There was also a bandaid fix applied in bug 912085
