We'll need to schedule some downtime to deploy the code to run the TrackingFlag migration from old to new style. The steps needed to execute the migration are outlined here: https://bmo.etherpad.mozilla.org/tracking-flags-migration Bug 880829 is the bug for tracking the actual migration code implementation and code review. We only expect ~20 minutes needed but will need to occur during the next IT outage window in 6 weeks from now. A cab review bug should be filed as well by the IT person who will be performing the migration. Thanks dkl
Flags: cab-review?
Depends on: 914745
I've opened https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=914745 to herd this through CAB for 2013-10-12 tree closure maintenance window I've put myself down to perform the webops maintenance :sheeri, can you provide me details on the database actions or would someone from your team perform them? Thanks
Flags: cab-review? → needinfo?(scabral)
Someone from my team can perform them, but FYI they're all in the etherpad dkl linked - https://bmo.etherpad.mozilla.org/tracking-flags-migration under DBA.

:dkl / :glob , when should we add a banner to bmo announcing the maintenance?

(In reply to Brandon Burton [:solarce] from comment #5) > Ok, should I file a bug about this? Ping someone on 10/5? probably simplest to ping someone on oct 5th (or thereabouts -- summit). as per our recent outages, the primary means of notifying should be email (ask shyam for the template and target audiences).

Migration complete. Took the whole 2 hours as we also did stage before prod which added a small amount of time. Encountered the normal errors due to the cf_blocking_192 and cf_status192 tables but after manual clean up everything seemed to be fine. I did quite a bit of sanity checking and all seemed well so far so we will hear soon if anything is not right. Closing this for now. Thanks for everyone's help! dkl
