Although bug 870941 was fixed, some themes continue to cause the scrollbars to disappear when the scrollbar style changes from regular to overlay or vice-versa. One theme that has this issue is mx4 [1]. However, other themes don't have this problem [2]. It is currently hard to tell how widespread this issue is, or if only mx4 is affected. STR: 1. Install mx4 2. Navigate to page with scrollbars (for example http://news.google.com) 3. Open System Preferences > General 4. Switch the options of "Show scroll bars:" between "When scrolling" and "Always" Result: Same scrollbar artifacts as reported in bug 870941. No usable scrollbars displayed. This seems to affect regular themes. Light-weight themes don't seem affected. Wrote post in MozillaZine with suggested fix for themes: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2747741&e=0
