Details

Tested with: - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20130801 Thunderbird/17.0.8 - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/25.0a2 BuildID: 20130906004002 - Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20130804 Thunderbird/17.0.8 - Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/25.0a2 BuildID: 20130906004002 For POP3-Accounts there exists the following problem: When I delete / detach an attachment of an replied e-mail the information (the blue arrow-icon), that I have replied it, gets lost. Steps to reproduce: - Starting in "classic view" with "Message Pane" on. - open an e-mail which has an attachment - press reply-button - press send-button (observe the arrow-icon "Replied" at the beginning of the subject-column) - delete attachment of this e-mail Observed result: Now the arrow-icon "Replied" has disappeared. Expected result: The arrow-icon "Replied" should still be there. Same happens when I use "Forward" instead of "Reply". Same happens when I "Detach" the attachment instead of deleting it. Same happens when I make the following instead of deleting the attachment: in "Folder Pane" => right click on the folder => "Properties" => "Repair Folder" This Problem does not occur on an IMAP-Account. I suppose the problem is, that the X-Mozilla-Status-flag is not set to MSG_FLAG_REPLIED in the mbox when I press "Reply" and send the email. The replied-information seems to be only stored in the *.msf-file.

(In reply to Martin from comment #0) > For POP3-Accounts there exists the following problem: > When I delete / detach an attachment of an replied e-mail the information > (the blue arrow-icon), that I have replied it, gets lost. >(snip) > Same happens when I use "Forward" instead of "Reply". > Same happens when I "Detach" the attachment instead of deleting it. > Same happens when I make the following instead of deleting the attachment: > in "Folder Pane" => right click on the folder => "Properties" => "Repair Folder" > (snip) > This Problem does not occur on an IMAP-Account. As you suppose, all of your observations indicates that it's problem due to bug 840418. Do you see your problem by following? (1) For mail in local mail folder, Reply or Forward => Replied(or Forwarded) icon is shown, but is not saved in X-Mozilla-Status: header. (2) Before Detach/Delete operation, manually change Read/Unread status of the mail. At thread pane, toggle Read/Unread status of the mail by click of "Read" column. => Read/Unread status, Replied/Forarded status etc. is written in X-Mozilla-Statuys: (3) Do detach(or delete) operation.
I tried again with: - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20130801 Thunderbird/17.0.8 - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/25.0a2 BuildID: 20130906004002 > (1) For mail in local mail folder, Reply or Forward > => Replied(or Forwarded) icon is shown, but is not saved in X-Mozilla-Status: header. yes, I acknowledge this! > (2) Before Detach/Delete operation, manually change Read/Unread status of the mail. > At thread pane, toggle Read/Unread status of the mail by click of "Read" column. > => Read/Unread status, Replied/Forarded status etc. is written in X-Mozilla-Statuys: yes, I acknowledge this! > (3) Do detach(or delete) operation. The result is, that the Replied/Forwarded icon still is shown. And now the delete/detach-operation is added to the X-Mozilla-Status (+ 0002 / + 1000). > Do you see your problem by following? Yes. I agree that the problems I posted here are an addition to bug 840418. I am new here, should I write an additional comment in bug 840418?
