Demonstration of problem
The background tab separators overlay the tabstrip bottom border and cause the highlights and border to be a bit darker. See attached image. This might be worth polishing at some point.

Note that they're meant to do this, and that this was happening before - but it's more pronounced since bug 924181 and 924182 got fixed (not sure which of these caused it, but I suspect the latter).
