Detailed Transition Plan : http://bit.ly/1k2syjw
Need to detail the transition plan for existing games (content) to become rated
Blocks: 925484
Summary: [project] Create transition plan for existing Marketplace games / content to ratings → [program] Create transition plan for existing Marketplace games / content to ratings
Thoughts requested on the proposal below for transition to Rated Apps:

At Go-Live
- apps remain live
- "grace period" for developers (## of days to rate their apps (60 days) > mika, karen
- at the end of 60 days, if app not rated, then app is de-listed according to the "ratings policy"

Notifications - Awesome new, free, ratings service (& reminder to rate their app)
- pre-launch prep (Havi's newsletter mid-December)
- direct email to developers
- reminders sent at 4 weeks and 6 weeks (?)

Team to meet and determine.

Seems good to me.

In terms of direct emails to the developer, I'd favour:
- one at the launch date, with 60 days to go
- a reminder with 2 (?) weeks to go (only to app's that are still unrated)
- a notification email on the 60 day mark when the actual delisting is done. (only to affected apps)

Clouserw -
We are looking to give app devs 90 days (tbc) grace period after content ratings go live before their app is taken down from Marketplace. Had you anticipated this in the design of the solution?

- 90 day grace period
- backout strategy (in case no devs actually do the content rating and take down would leave us with no apps)

Yes, we don't have an actual date yet.

Plan was created Dec 16, 2013. (See https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1m06gQXmgoZ7d2xyltQ9Pdof8K7FQT77s-0mw16xuXbw/edit ). Developers have been advised that Mozilla plans to remove unrated apps on April 15; however the team will meet April 11 to determine if Mozilla will stand behind that date or extend the deadline.
