+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #834422 +++ We have implemented Twitter Cards on mozilla.org, and now we have to get approval from Twitter to show those in tweets. Steps: 1. Login to the Card Validator with the @mozilla or @firefox account: https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards/validation/validator 2. Select the Validate & Apply tab 3. Enter http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ to validate. Note that the card preview doesn't work with Firefox (Bug 877146) 4. Click the Request Approval button 5. Enter the name, email and Twitter username 6. Click the Request Approval button That's it. Actually anyone, even I, can request approval, because there's no email confirmation, but the owner, Mozilla, should do that.

Michaela: Can you help with this twitter approval of mozilla.org?

Would it be possible for me to validate using the @Firefox account? Rebeccah Mullen at MoFo manages the @Mozilla account, so if it needs to be that owner, we should add her to this bug.

Can you do @firefox and Rebeccah does @mozilla? Let us know how it goes and if there are any problems. This will help with sharing mozilla.org content on Twitter.

Sure. I'm getting hung up on Step #2. I'm unable to select the Validate & Apply tab. When I click on it, the default tab "Try Cards" remains selected, as if I'm not prompting any change at all. Let me know if anyone else has run into this and what I might be able to do to progress forward on this.
I have just completed this process in full, and will let you know if I see an email soon. I am due for a few days off post-mozfest, and can loop back into this on Nov 4th. I am available until Tuesday 29th noon GMT if you need more work done on this from me. If anything past Tuesday is urgent, I suggest you connect with Erica Sackin (erica@mozillafoundation.org) as she also has access to the account. :) Rebeccah

Is there any tips you can give mthayer on the step issues she noted in comment 4?
I'm on beta 25.0 Firefox - I didn't have the same experience but I know where the tab Micheala is having trouble with is. I would suggest trying two different ideas: 1. check to be sure you're signed into Firefox's Twitter account in the browser. Then try the process. I get hung up occasionally when my personal twitter account stays logged in in my browser and I try to log in to hootsuite for Mozilla, for example. 2. use a different browser version. FF 25 beta *just* had an update where issues related to social sign-in were fixed - after a few rough days where almost all of my social sign-ins didn't function very well. Possibly because that Validate Tab pre-populates the twitter info, that's the issue? Best of luck!
Hi Rebeccah, Thanks for the advice. I've now been able to complete steps 1, 2, and 3. However, I'm not able to complete Step 4 because there is no "Request Approval" button. (See screenshot that says Mozilla.org is already approved: http://screencast.com/t/pm95P1m44B.) Does this mean that we're in good shape and no further action is needed? Please advise! Thanks again, Michaela
(In reply to Chris More [:cmore] from comment #3) > Yes, we need to do it for both the @firefox and @mozilla account. Can you do > @firefox and Rebeccah does @mozilla? I think the approval request is site-basis, not account-basis. @mozilla's request is good enough. Now the Card Validator says "*.mozilla.org approved" and I can see a summary on a tweet: https://twitter.com/firefox/status/393414124899536896 Yay!

Michaela: Yes, mozilla.org is already approved. You don't have to send another request :)
Nice and that would explain why she can't double validate. Nice job everyone!
Awesome. Exciting! :)
