User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130910160258 Steps to reproduce: After updating my OS X to the 10.9 Mavericks: I installed "Firefox OS Simulator 4.0" from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-os-simulator/ and after the first crash I tried "Firefox OS 1.2 Simulator (stable)" from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/fxos-simulator/ Actual results: Firefox OS Simulator 4.0 crashes when trying to start using Firefox 24 stable release. In Nightly v27 This simulator appears as installed but it's not shown on the context menu "Web Developer" and there isn't a way to open it. Firefox OS 1.2 Simulator (stable) works on Firefox 24 stable release but still crashes on trying to start on Nightly. Expected results: I don't know what's exactly happening on both simulators but the only possible way to get something to work is with the Firefox OS 1.2 Simulator and using the stable release version. I tried this all after seeing people complaining about this on Facebook pages.
This may be a dupe of bug 928168
It looks like they share the same source of problem, but this one is also reporting the issue within the stable released addon (Firefox Simulator 4.0) and not only the new simulator via App Manager.
Firefox OS Simulator 4.0 now works on Firefox 25 release build that was released today, it didn't work yesterday on Firefox Beta or even Aurora. Firefox OS 1.2 Simulator worked today via App Manager on Nightly build v28. I can't figure out what you did, probably indirectly, but you all are AWESOME! Thanks. :)

This is probably a dup of bug 928168.
Yesterday Firefox OS Simulator 4.0 now worked for me once I upgrade to Firefox 25. However today it crashes as it did under Firefox 24.
If you don't need to test your app against Firefox OS 1.1, I'd suggest you to switch to Firefox 26 with its new App manager interface. It comes with a different simulator addon, available here: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/fxos-simulator/ More info about the app manager: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2013/10/introducing-the-firefox-os-app-manager/ myk, Do you plan to release an update for the Simulator Classic with the subprocess fix?

(In reply to Alexandre Poirot (:ochameau) from comment #6) > myk, Do you plan to release an update for the Simulator Classic with the > subprocess fix? Yes, I've just uplifted the fix, and I'll spin a new preview build with it this week! https://github.com/mozilla/r2d2b2g/commit/5f945f30b057f7ef760c11422ae882e09cd6a340 Leaving open the needinfo request to remind me to comment here again after I've spun the preview build.
I've now spun the preview builds! Please test the one for your platform, and let me know if you still see the crash: Windows: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/r2d2b2g/r2d2b2g-windows.xpi Mac: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/r2d2b2g/r2d2b2g-mac.xpi Linux: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/r2d2b2g/r2d2b2g-linux.xpi

Mac version works as expected. Issue fixed.
