Talked this over with cvan and we decided this is a WONTFIX. Hacking in a one-off wouldn't be too hard or expensive, but there's some good reasons why we shouldn't:
- We get a very small amount of traffic from iOS. Firefox drives more than two orders of magnitude more traffic than all of Safari (desktop and iOS)
- A large chunk of the traffic to the Marketplace from iOS devices comes from within Mozilla's network(s).
- There's no way to tell if you're not on Firefox AND you're on a platform that can't install Firefox.
- Adding one-offs doesn't scale. There are plenty of platforms that can't get Firefox.
- You can just press the X and we won't bug you again.
- The site is useless anyway for iOS users.
- There's a large risk of false positives. More than a few valid Android devices report themselves as iOS devices to get the mobile version of sites that detect iOS-only.

Oops, hit the save button too soon. Also:
- The Chrome Web Store does the same thing, but for Chrome instead of Firefox.
