On its player download page http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/main.html Macromedia says that the Mac OS X version of Flash Player is for IE only. However, the player works with Mozilla, too.
Until there is a official release of the Mozilla/Netscape for OSX, we will not officially support that browser.
Mozilla for Mac OS X is not less official than Mozilla for Solaris for example. Netscape 6.1 is a "Preview" on Mac OS X but so is IE.
THe difference I am looking is actually Netscape 6.1 and IE 5.1 have been made publicly available by the respect compaies, there has being a committment to release publicly. Other than simply - go to Mozilla and download the latest build. If you where to publicly release a preview to the public sure I would be happy to add Mozilla/Netscape as supporting Flash Player on OS X troy
Perhaps you can configure your servers to allow Mozilla on OS X to be admitted to download Flash, but with a warning that it is not supported. That way, you don't have to deal with "it doesn't work" when Mozilla is broken, and we don't have to deal with "I can't use flash" when it does work.

We also provide a back door for people to download the flash player you can get the player from here http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/ Even though it's says it only supports IE, - it is still just a plug-in supporting the BRPL mime type, thus it will run in other browsers. I still recommend you all releasing a public preview release, before we support it officially

Um, the Netscape 6.1 Technology Preview for Mac OS X _is_ public and available for download from the main Netscape site at <http://home.netscape.com/browsers/6/ sysreq.html#note?cp=djuosx>. Doesn't this meet the requirements for 'official' support from Macromdeia?

The Macromedia Flash download page now says the Mac OS X Flash Player is compatible with Netscape 6.2 or later. When you go to http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ and click on Macromedia Flash Player using Mozilla 2002010709 on Mac OS X, you are correctly directed to the download page for the Mac OS X Flash player. This bug should probably be marked "works for me" or "fixed".
Yep, it's FIXED
