We've screwed this up twice now (bugs 906466 and 944774). In both cases we ended up with users who couldn't update because the embedded MAR signature fingerprints didn't match what we signed MARs with. Avoiding that means landing a patch like https://bug944774.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=8340522 on the specific branch.

There's also other things we need to do, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=937948 goes through that for Holly.

I wrote this up on https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReleaseEngineering/How_Tos/Enable_nightly_updates_for_a_project_branch. It's light on details for Buildbot/Taskcluster, but I think that was out of scope here - the main confusion in bug 937948 was the Gecko parts.
