Be able to select more than one platform/OS in Platform and OS fields

There are occasions when a bug is found that occurs on more than one platform,
but does not occur on ALL platforms.  It would be nice to be able to designate
more than one platform or OS in those fields.  I realize that this is hard to do
with a drop down list box.  Perhaps, an entry can be added such as "Two
platforms", etc?  Just a thought.

Being able to designate more than one platform would help make bug tracking more
accurate and more representative of which platforms are actually problematic,
etc.

Not very likely.  It involves a database reorganization, and UI redesign, and I
don't think many people actually see the need.

But maybe people will chime in that I'm dead wrong...

something like this is in the skunkworks for bugzilla version 3. terry is right 
that it involves a complete database overhaul.

I agree that somehow a multiple platforms option needs to exist. Prehaps a 'All Macintosh' 

and 'All Windows" option could be created, if a multi-selectable menu could not be 

created...

Most Mozilla bugs happen on all operating systems, so this would add a lot of 
spam as people list the platforms that each bug occurs on.  The pp keyword or 
summary line can be used to hint when a bug happens on PC and Linux but not Mac.

I would LOVE this bug to be included.  We use Bugzilla with products that are on
over 100 platforms and very frequently we have bugs that appear on a subset of
thsoe platforms.  This would greatly increase funtionality for us.

Instead of "All Windows" or "All Win32", I'd rather like to have "All Win9x/ME" and "All WinNT" because these two families are very different and secondly "Win32" isn't very specific since Win16 is not supported a long long time ago.

Once the op_sys and rep_platform fields are converted into custom fields, you will be able to replace them by custom multi-select fields. So this bug will be marked WFM once bug 449161 is fixed.
