Autocomplete does not complete "www.foo" entries

Details
When typing (for example) "www.moz" in the URL bar, autocomplete remains silent.
When, on the other hand, I type "moz", tons of autocomplete links pop-up. This
has two downsides:
- if I am not sure whether the www.foo.com URL is in the history I have problems
to decide what to type ("foo" hoping that autocomplete will find it) of www.foo.
(an overkill in case the URL is in the history)
- wrinting "moz" gives me tons of URLs *other* than www.mozilla.com, like
http://mozilla-evangelism.bclary.com/letter/en-layer-evangelism-letter.txt which
would not happen if I could start with "www.moz". The mozilla.something URLS are
the topmost ones making it even more annoying.
Seen with Win32 2001081003 trunk build on WindowsME
