For some reason, most of the prefpanels are horked - meaning they don't show up
at all. Some do, but without XUL.

Summary: 90% of the prefspanels horked → Most of the prefspanels are horked
i'm getting tons of assertions on a recent linux CVS build, but i do see the prefs.
Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkpixmap.c: line 63 (gdk_pixmap_new): assertion `(width
!= 0) && (height != 0)' failed.
Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkdraw.c: line 89 (gdk_draw_rectangle): assertion
`drawable != NULL' failed.
Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkpixmap.c: line 822 (gdk_pixmap_unref): assertion
`pixmap != NULL' failed.

This is Windows 98, btw.
I'm getting the same assertions dark's getting on 2001081009/Linux and a couple
builds I tried before it.

Technically, this isn't a "smoketest" blocker. The Preferences smoketest (B.25)
requires only that the ability to change homepage works. And homepage changing
does work cross platform on this mornings builds. But digging deeper into the
preferences workings and finding many things do not work makes this functionally
a definite smoketest type blocker.

Pref panels look ok using linux 2001081306 (well, on my machine ;-) ). Is this
new profile, old profile, both?

Ok, mac 2001081304 build pref panels look fine, too. I'll go try an 8/12 build.

AFIK, prefs _look_ fine on Linux (can't speak for Win32) the only thing is that
I get all those Gdk-CRITICAL messages whenever I do anything with prefs.

Prefs load fine under linux 2001-08-12-06 build. Also tried a brand new profile
with 2001-08-13-06 build, and pref panels draw ok there, too.

Sorry build 2001081303 has pref panel and create profile panel broken (see abow
attachment) running on win2k sp2 256MB RAM. Can't even create a new profile to
check it out.
Good luck with that
Ciao

the blank profile/mail account wizards (from the attached png) are covered in
bug 93562, methinks.

This is nothing about windows. It has to do with panels that don't load, at
all. Not at the first time, not at the second time.

... and even if it was the same culprit as the other bug, it would still be a
blocker.

haven't been able to repro this on winNT [2001.08.13.09-comm] with either an
existing or new profile. will try other platforms in a bit...

(win2k,Athlon 1.3Ghz, 512 MB RAM..)
I can't reproduce this with build 20010813.. (early CVS)
I tried both : Classic and Modern -> wfm
The linux assertions are from Pavlov's imagelib landing (AFAIK)

I miss understood this bug originally. I have discovered some functionalities
that aren't working or that have changed in default since Friday. But all of the
preferences windows/dialogues worked fine for me; new profile or old, classic or
modern skin on windows, linux and mac. All good. Although I am seeing the
assertions RKA posted. I'll double check the other bugs I saw on tomorrow
mornings builds and if those problems are still around then I'll write bugs on
them.
as far as I now understand this....and can't reproduce it, it is not a smoketest
blocker. removing keyword.
Keywords: smoketest
