User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131212030202 Steps to reproduce: 1: update Nightly-central 29.0a1 2: Bookmarks Toolbar 3: navigate to 'sub folder' Actual results: Bookmarks Many sub folders are either Empty or truncated lists of what Was in them Expected results: Bookmarks menus should contain the BM's they did yesterday. 10's of thousands of BM's are GONE! No other error seems to be occurring. This is a HUGE Deal!

EVERYTHING about Australis is &*%# !! it takes 45 minutes to backup or export bookmarks and now it is deleting or not showing BM's from places.sqlite The size of places has Not changed and in sqliteman there doesn't appear to be any 'missing' lines (entries).. This is the Last Straw! Landis.

Using Bookmarks Library > Backup > produces 0 B file Using Bookmarks Library > Export > produces an html file, don't feel like waiting, but it is progressively 'growing' Landis.

every bookmarks 'backup' file in ~/bookmarksbackup/ is either 9.6 BM or 0 MB. an actual backup, made manually, if it succeeds is 16.3 MB (this has been accomplished only once since Australis again, unexceptionable among a growing list of Hated 'features' of Ausralis Landis.

I used the partial Bookmarks.html Export from the **** Australis Used Diff3 to merge it with the most recent backup from Aurora (10.12.13) saved merged file bookmarks_merged.html Tried to Import into Australis (Nightly) Australis > Bookmarks Library > Import and Backup > Import from HTML file Select file > Open ---- DOES NOTHING! Repeat > Select file > Double Click file --- Australis goes out to lunch for 15-20 mins as if it's Importing file 20 minutes later... NOTHING has been 'Imported' This is beyond Urgent! People think they stuff is being backed up and it is NOT! This attempt to rescue MY Bookmarks cost me 2 hours of my life... for Nothing! Again. Australis is ****! Landis.

I understand that this is really frustrating, but bookmarks backup functioning or otherwise has nothing to do with Australis, so I'm going to remove the dependency.

I tried to duplicate this with a profile and bookmarks created in Firefox 28. Switching the same profile to 29.0a1 didn't affect the bookmark folders or their contents. Landis, I recommend you ask for help recovering your bookmarks folder in our support forums, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions And there is a general help for bookmark recovery here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-lost-or-missing-bookmarks If the issue is in an old profile, these steps may help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile
