Reports are[1] that this is a search hijacker add-on that gets side-installed with freeware apps. The only policy violation I'm sure of, though, is that they use multiple IDs, in the form of toolbar\d{5}@findwide.com [1] http://www.spywareremove.com/removefindwide.html
From user reports it appears that it hijacks the homepage and also blocks attempts to revert it. This should probably wait on bug 802434.
