Should be Possible to Deactivate "Keep this Window Open..." Permanently, for
File Download Progress Window.
When a download is is complete, I usually (99% of the time) do not want the
download progress window to stay open. Unfortunately, the default seems to be
that "Keep this Window Open..." is selected.
There should be a UI way to deactivate this per default for all future downloads.

I think this bug is invalid/worksforme
Mozilla use the last state of this setting.
That means :
Download File -> "Keep this Window..." is enabled
disable "Keep this Window..."
next download -> "Keep this Window.." is disabled !
next download -> "Keep this Window.." is also disabled
enable it again ...
next download -> "Keep this Window.." is enabled

If that is on a per extension or mime-type basis, then the effort to deactivate
it globally is unreasonably high. It is also not aparent or consistent to the
user who doesn't remember all the extensions types he has downloaded since
installation. One day he downloads a ZIP and the window stays open. Another day
he downloads an EXE and it closes. It just isn't consisten.
I install nightlies almost every day. Maybe my settings are getting "reset" and
I just don't see a clear pattern.
In any event, I don't want the window to stay open, and it always seems to stay
open, no matter what I do.

It's not per extension or mime-type, it's general (AFAIK)
(I tried it a few secounds ago with the FTP.mozilla.org nightly directory)
I rebuild my build every day and I can't see this.
Maybe your profile is corrupt and it doesn't store the current state ??

I have been using my profile for over 6 months now and everything seems to be
fine. It would be unlikely if just this were broken - although I'm open to
suggestions (prefs.js settings?).
user_pref("browser.download.progressDnldDialog.keepAlive", false); is the
prefs.js setting that controls this.
i agree with matti on changing this bug to worksforme or invalid

Hold on -- where is this "Keep this window...." setting? Is it one of the things
hidden by bug #132440?
