*** Original post on bio 571 at 2010-11-01 09:42:00 UTC *** In my opinion, the choices on this bugtracker could need some attention: Here's the website components as example: Addons.instantbird.org bugzilla.instantbird.org buildbot socorro Updates www.instantbird.com www.instantbird.org The use of upper/lower case is inconsistent. Some components are referred to by their url, others by their function ('Updates') and others by the name of the software that runs the service ('Socorro'). Other parts are missing ('Wiki', even though it might be controversial if they need a place there). Using a more consistent pattern could be helpful here. 'Other' might be a good addition for anything that doesn't fit into these categories. There are similiar problems with the components of the other products. On the products: I sometimes have problems to decide into which product category a bug should go, for example there can be bugs that are neither "purplexpcom" nor "Instantbird (UI)"; e.g. it's not in the purplexpcom code, but not affecting the UI either. Or was the "(UI)" intended to mean something like "(UI + non-xpcom-javascript bugs + ...)"? Marking this bug as dependent on two other bugs, so that they also get their fair share of attention.
Depends on: 953812, 953869

I updated these all to "<url> (<software>)". > On the products: > > I sometimes have problems to decide into which product category a bug should > go, for example there can be bugs that are neither "purplexpcom" nor > "Instantbird (UI)"; e.g. it's not in the purplexpcom code, but not affecting > the UI either. Or was the "(UI)" intended to mean something like "(UI + > non-xpcom-javascript bugs + ...)"? I'm pretty sure "Instantbird (UI)" is anything that's somewhat related to the UI, i.e. not the back-end. I'm not sure specifically what you're talking about here, but we should file a separate bug for it. I'll look at the other bugs next.
