*** Original post on bio 636 at 2010-12-20 01:05:00 UTC *** STR: 1. Add an IRC buddy to the buddy list or use an already existing IRC buddy. 2. Set a custom alias for him 3. Open a private conversation and see that it uses this alias on the tab and in the conversation view 4. Go to a channel where this person is and check the participant list Result: Shows real nick Expected(?) result: Use the alias as well. I mark it depending on the rewrite of the participant list. Will be a good moment to fix this as well.

I'm not sure of how that feature would mess with some add-ons (reply-to-nick, the tab completion add-on Mook is working on), and with other people in the room if you happen to copy/paste some of the conversation and the aliased nick appears in the result.
