Ctrl/Cmd-W in a MUC closes the tab and puts the conversation on hold.  But sometimes users want to close the tab and leave the conversation.  It'd be handy to have a shortcut for doing that.

Options include Ctrl/Cmd-Alt-W and Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-W.  But "Shift" when added to an existing accelerator often means "do the opposite" (although reopen tab in Firefox is Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-T rather than Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-W, which is Close Window), so "Alt" seems better.

Closing bugs related to the Instantbird UI as WONTFIX, as the development of the standalone chat client Instantbird has stopped. Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.
