When dogfooding with a device in the wild often we are not near a computer when a problem occurs, thus cannot see or capture the logcat when errors occur. It would be useful to dump the logcat to a file and/or make it visible in Gaia somehow so the error can be debugged later with a computer attached. Vladimir suggested an app can run the command and display the results. An installable app would be great in the case of dogfooding with user builds that don't have engineering tools, the app could be installed into the user build after flashing. However an alternative could also be to trigger it on a combination of hardware button presses like a screenshot.
Richard, this would be great for our QA app.
