*** Original post on bio 2154 at 2013-09-06 11:44:00 UTC *** How about a badge (like what we do for unread messages) overlaying the big MUC icon on the left?
*** Original post on bio 2154 at 2013-09-06 12:02:00 UTC *** I also think the participant count should somehow be displayed in the area occupied by the large MUC icon. I wonder if we even need the number at all (could we instead display a different icon for the various values of Math.round(Math.log(participantCount))?

The only problem with not showing the number is that the user might want to compare against what she knows is "expected" for that channel?

If we remove the participant count in the awesome tab, we should possibly remove it too in the general MUC UI, and just display the different MUC icons based on the participant count there too. Maybe with a tooltip showing the actual number.

On the behalf of Florian: Closing bugs related to the Instantbird UI as WONTFIX, as the development of the standalone chat client Instantbird has stopped. Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.
