There should probably be a server side script called just after new builds are registered in the update system.
This script would be called from the POST_UPLOAD_CMD variable set by buildbot.

The script should put create (if necessary) latest-<version> folder, and put symbolic link to each new build there.

For trunk nightlies it should also update the latest-trunk link when the version number changes (it doesn't matter if the link is updated all the time even when the version number hasn't changed).

For release candidates, the link used to be called latest-<version>-candidates

It's not very critical, but it's a pain for nightly testers who currently get a "latest-trunk" link pointing to 0.2pre builds.

Yeah, I'm sure of it. We really need to fix this one but I can't find the motiiation when I have some time for me to do this. I'll try to do so in a few. Thanks for the comment, it might help to remind me this from time to time.
