95635 - Take long time loading msgs (when msgs with backgrounds)

Used 08-15-06-trunk build

Take long time loading 3~6kb msgs from the Local Template Folder.

1) Login to any mail account
2) Select the Template folder from the Local Folder
3) Select 3~6kb msgs from the thread pane of the Local Template folder
4) Actual Results: It will take a while for loading these 3~6kb msgs from the 
Local Template Folder, also if you tried to select the other msgs from the 
thread pane, it also take very long time......

Expected Results: Should load 3~6kb msgs & switch to other msgs quickly without 
such long time.

Change QA-> Sheela for the Local Folder.
Seth, I am curious: is this regression from the fix of bug 73865 new outliner?

Doubtful.  I'd guess this is a backend bug (CC naving, bienvenu).

If this is Local Folders, why do you have to login to a mail account in step #1?

Yes. Skip step #1. It doesn't matter for login to a mail account.
And sometimes, it looks like will hang when switch Local folders, probably it 
took too long for loading those msgs.....

Using build 2001-09-10 on windows I am seeing that it's the (2) Template
messages with backgrounds (Flowers & Memo).  If you select the other (3) (Happy
Birthday, Reminder, BYOB) they load OK.  Also note: if I grab the Title bar of
the 3-pane window and move the window, the stalled message loads immediately OR
minimize/maximize the 3-pane and the message will load.  Just resizing the
message pane or 3-pane window doesn't make a difference.  I tested this with a
New Profile on Windows XP, saw it happen on Ninoschka's WindowsME.

Yes they were, however I was able to reproduce this by creating a message in 4.7
with a .gif background (26KB), sent it to myself and when I opened it in 6.1 I
experienced the same problem

If I copy those Local default templates (with backgrounds) to IMAP, it will Take 
long time loading too....Updating the summary and adding perf & pp on this bug 
since this is performance issue and problem is not occurring on the Linux 
platform....

Verified w4me.
I also tried the scenario esther mentioned in her comments. Sent message with 
gif attachment with background color and selected the message using current 
trunk build and I did not hang.
