Maybe you are just using the /bug \d+/i match when in fact more needs to be done.

Not a dupe. Bug 113688 is about bug IDs present in comments. This bug is about the diff table itself. Note that you already get this information thanks to bug 97956 (requires Bugzilla 4.5.2 or newer). But it wouldn't hurt to linkify bug IDs directly from the diff table.
