User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/31.0.1650.63 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Got email in INBOX.
Actual results:
Whole Thunderbird hangs. When killed and run again with activity monitor on it shows when it hangs on indexing INBOX folder. I have separated this email by trial and error. I use IMAP server and Roundcube so it was quite easy. I have attached an .eml file downloaded through Roundcube for You to see. Moving this email from INBOX made Thunderbird run normally again. I have 10 years of emails in my INBOX (22000 or so) and this is first email that hangs whole Thunderbird. I checked Windows and Linux versions with same results.
Expected results:
Nothing.

Thanks for the testcase. A spam message?? It's about 5,150 lines of 3 addresses each, so about 15,000 addresses.
I recently triaged this area. There are at least two aspects to this, perhaps more:
bug 843639 gloda implications of indexing / downloading email with hundreds of email addresses, memory usage rises to ~300MB/sec until it crashes
bug 619493 Message with too many email addresses in TO: or CC: field hangs TB. Need to sanity check display of addresses.
