Two sentences: "Sorry, No video available for your device" and ditto for audio.

Requires Brightcove fix - will quite likely start working when Brightcove fixes its sniffing, but does need retesting because they have some customized JS from Brightcove running locally too.
Hm.. the streaming video solution means linking to rtsp: URLs. Do Firefox OS devices support this?

No, we don't support RTSP. I filed bug 506834 for it 4.5 years ago.

Depends on: 506834
I don't think their are any plans to add RTSP support to gecko for the video tag. NI'ing Maire and roc in case they want to correct me.

I guess there isn't that much demand for it either.. Note that it's linking to rtsp: URLs, not <video> it seems - launches in separate media player from Android browser.
We do support RTSP in FirefoxOS, see bug 929372, but I think only in apps, not Web sites. I'm pretty sure we don't support it in Android at all, although that could be fixed. We won't ever support it on desktop.

Agree with Rob and Brad: I would just add that it's on the roadmap for FxOS. It was targeted for v1.4, but just got moved to the backlog.

Marire, is there a bug for RTSP support for FxOS apps? Seems like that's what this should be depending on since on Android we kick out to a system app.

I added a dependency on the RTSP user story bug for FxOS. (All the technical bugs blocking the feature appear to be linked to that user story bug.)
Depends on: RTSP

It's supported on websites in FxOS. I've confirmed that through my testing here - http://mozilla.github.io/qa-testcase-data/Video/youtubeRTSPURLSearch.html on a recent build.

It's currently enabled on 1.4 in FxOS actually.

Thanks. I actually think we should *not* support RTSP for Web sites in FirefoxOS...
rtsp: links do indeed work in recent FirefoxOS releases, and Al Jazeera should therefore change the server-side browser sniffing that currently sends the message "Sorry, no content for this device" hard-coded in the markup instead of the <A href="rtsp:.."> links.
Summary: aljazeera.com shows neither video nor plays audio, courtesy of BrightCove → aljazeera.com shows neither video nor plays audio. (BrightCove?)

That URL no longer exists, and video is working for me on their mobile/responsive site.
