From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010830 BuildID: 2001083006 Go to that url. Mozilla says: User logged in, proceed UNIX Command OK Entering passive mode.... That's it. Does nothing else I am on an adsl connection behind a nat linksys router Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to url Actual Results: Get message like above, and does nothing
Francisco, that site works fine for me on linux 2001083008. I get the boring listing from 90695.
Notice the most important line in my bug report: "I am on an adsl connection behind a nat linksys router" what kind of connection are you on? If the problem is caused by using nat, then of course the summary needs to be changed, but i dont know for sure and i want someone to confirm this for me
This sounds like a dupe of bug 95386
I guess you are searching for Bug 465. Some NAT/Firewalls may block passive transfers. Bug 21814 may be related, too
Yes, but some ftp sites used to work for me before, and with the same hardware... Anyway, mozilla is showing a normal network ftp log when it should display an error. I know how nat works and there are some ftp's that request passive mode is turned OFF, so that may be the issue. What i want to know is: -If mozilla is handling the ftp connections fine (the ftp log should not be displayed on that modal window) -If a "normal" user not using dsl and able to use ftp sites in non-passive mode can enter the url listed above in mozilla

VERIFIED per reporter (the connection establishment times out for me) Probably matti was right (he is, after all the owner of browser-general). Dupe chain points to bug 99233 at the end...
