Reopening:
Steps to reproduce:
1. log in to affliates-dev
2. signup for the newsletter
3. footer displays "Thanks for subscribing"
4. refresh the page or log out then log in
5. view footer
Expected:
Once a user has signed up for the newsletter - the newsletter signup form should no longer be present on the page.
Actual:
The signup form continues to persist in the footer on subsequent visits to logged in pages

While that's a good idea, I don't think that was expected as part of this bug (at least I didn't expect it and the old mailing list signup didn't work that way either). IMO that should be part of a post-release bug instead of part of this one.

I think comment 2 describes an enhancement that we can consider in our post-launch sprint. Marking this resolved, opening a new bug.
