From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010831 BuildID: 20010831 Certain pages that mix text with images cause the behavior of drag scrolling to "jump" down the page rather than smoothly scroll when scrolling between the text and images. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://us.imdb.com/CommentsShow?130827 2. Scroll to the first comment. 3. Click right before the image that says "Email this comment to a friend" 4. Drag selection along text to the image. 5. Watch scrolling jump down the page. or 1. Go to http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000021Y74/qid=999407697/sr=2-3/ref=aps_sr_v_3_1/002-5002867-6544008 2. Scroll to the first user comment. 3. Start selecting text right _above_ (not beside) the first image that says "yes/no". 4. Continue selection down onto image. 5. Watch selection "jump" down the page. Actual Results: Browser "jumps" down the page. Selection maintains integrity. That is, even though the act of selecting causes page to scroll incorrectly, the selection always highlights text between start of selection and current position of mouse cursor. Expected Results: Browser does not start scrolling while selecting unless a selection moves beyond the top or bottom of page. And when this happens, scrolling moves smoothly instead of "jumping". This has affected every mozilla I have ever used, but I finally got annoyed enough to report it as a bug. Workarounds: This bug does not block any functionality. You can almost always select the text you want if you are careful, or if you select it piecewise around the troublesome images.
Marking these all WORKSFORME sorry about lack of response but were very overloaded here. Only reopen the bug if you can reproduce with the following steps: 1) Download the latest nightly (or 0.9.6 which should be out RSN) 2) Create a new profile 3) test the bug again If it still occurs go ahead and reopen the bug. Again sorry about no response were quite overloaded here and understaffed.
