On my IMAP account, when I try to make a new folder named "test" at the top
level mozilla instead creates a folder named "Inbox^test" (in the correct
location).
Subfolders of other imap folders are named correctly as are subfolders of
"Local Folders".

Yes. I saw this problem on Dawn's Linux system.
But, Stephen & I couldn't reproduce this problem on our system.
I notice Dawn is using an existing profile with multiple accounts......
Ccing Cavin since Scott is out of office now.
Ccing Ninoschka for the multiple accounts.....

I am wondering to know why it's creating "INBOX^test" instead of "test"?
7176[8bb3508]: nsmail-2:S-INBOX:SendData: 12 create "INBOX^test"
7176[8bb3508]: nsmail-2:S-INBOX:CreateNewLineFromSocket: 12 OK Completed
7176[8bb3508]: nsmail-2:S-INBOX:SendData: 13 subscribe "INBOX^test"
7176[8bb3508]: nsmail-2:S-INBOX:CreateNewLineFromSocket: 13 OK Completed
7176[8bb3508]: nsmail-2:S-INBOX:SendData: 14 list "" "INBOX^test"
7176[8bb3508]: nsmail-2:S-INBOX:CreateNewLineFromSocket: * LIST (\HasNoChildren)
"/" INBOX^test
It seems that it's trying to create a subfolder under the Inbox & finally got
"INBOX^test" which is not correct and is a little bit similar to the scenarion
that I got on 8/16 of bug 29926.....

yes, the problem continues after i restart the browser. The problem
only occurs on my nsmail-2 imap account and not on my home imap account
or with the Local Folders hierarchy.

May I know what your meaning for "my home imap account"?
Is that also setup as "nsmail-2"? Is that outside the firwall?

I am curious -- David or Cavin, do you think that "part of fix of bug 63039" may
cause this problem?
Comment 10•24 years ago

Dawn, since Cavin and I cannot reproduce this problem.....
Can you try on other platforms for your account to see this problem is also
occurring on other platforms? We need to know whether this is specific for Linux
only problem. If it's only for Linux, can you put "pp" on the keywords to
specify this problem for Linux only? Thanks.

I have two email accounts. one at work and a personal one from my isp at
home. My machine at work is set up to read both of these imap servers.
Creating a folder on my home isp works fine. Creating folders on nsmail-2
is horked.
