Message -> Mark -> As Read should provide UI feedback that
shows something is happening. when applying this command to
a newsgroup (news.netbeans.org:/nbdev) with 10000 entries,
the user-interface stop responding during more than one
minute on my fast PC, without any kind of feedback
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. register news.netbeans.org/nvdev newsgroup
2. download all messages
3. select Message -> Mark -> As Read
Actual Results: *nothing* append for 1.5 minutes, as if mozilla was in an
infinite loop
Expected Results: some kind of progress bar indicating something's appening
You should try a build from after Aug. 15th when this issue was resolved with
the folder_outline checkins.
This is a WFM now, but marking dup of bug 18515, just in case new issues should
surface.

forgot..
Reporter: What changed with the new frontend for folder_inline code was that
marking several thousand new messages read now only takes seconds.
This made the need for any progress indicator rather redundant.
