Hi, in the German support forum of Firefox (http://www.camp-firefox.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=106296) there are reports of several users sometimes having a empty bookmarks toolbar after the first start of Firefox. Hiding and showing again the toolbar makes the bookmarks visible, also a restart of Firefox helps. It's not a new issue in Firefox 27, it was also present in previous versions. But nobody in our community has clear steps to reproduce the issue. Sometimes it happens after every restart of the computer, sometime there are a number of days without any problems. Any ideas what our users can do to narrow down the cause and help you to find the problem?
Our community members confirm that AVAST triggers the problem. With AVAST installed sometimes the bookmarks toolbar is empty without apparent reason. After switching to another AV software there were no longer any issues with the bookmarks toolbar. So is this a Tech Evangelism issue or is Firefox/Bookmarks still the right component?

I also use AVAST 2014 Free Antivirus on Windows 8.1, at least I did not encounter this problem. However, I also have heard there are several other security software cause the same problem, such as https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Bookmarks%20and%20toolbar%20buttons%20not%20working%20after%20upgrading#w_if-norton-360-is-installed (once). So it may be a common problem.
Same problem here. Windows 7 64bit with AVAST installed. In most cases a restart of firefox helps. But today I must have restart firefox six times to see the bookmarks toolbar content again.
Dupe with 973204. Which one should be closed as dupe of the other?
Suggest that this bug be closed as Dupe of the other - but both will wait on Mozilla deciding to do something
