The community team says a downloadable PDF of the Web Lit Map would be helpful, so this should be available from webmaker.org. I see this living under https://webmaker.org/literacy and linkable from webmaker.org/explore.

Wondering if we can streamline this step and make the extended web documentation (bug 982625) both print-ready and downloadable as a pdf.

Should have version number that matches the web documentation.

AFAIK the existing image at webmaker.org/literacy was created for the downloadable PDF. We should definitely still have a CTA for localising the WebLitMap, but I think the main CTA should be downloading the PDF for using offline / emailing / generally spreading the love. :-)
If the goal is sharability, some insights from Adam on bug 980153 might be relevant/interesting. Seems like it's inline with your thinking, Doug :)
Cool. Love Adam's comment about a single, clear CTA. How would we know when people were 'done' with the Web Literacy Map? When they click away from the page?

I suppose we could test after someone clicks the PDF download and take them to a social media share page? Just a thought. :-)
Sounds doable, it would be easier to version/localize something that is in printable HTML rather than images/pdf

I'm trying to figure out how to get other languages to work, it might be a bit out of scope.

Maybe take a look at https://github.com/devongovett/pdfkit/pull/53 and see if you can help?

The only solution here would be to provide fonts for each language that is UTF-8 like Thai, Khmer, Chinese etc.

We will have to register font and include them for each locale and I think this is the only solution so far (based on my research)

> doc.registerFont('Loma', 'public/resources/fonts/Loma.ttf')
> doc.font('Loma')

This one is Thai font

In favour of supporting all languages, let's go the route of improving html printing.
