It should be fixed in tomorrow's nightly (and the upcoming 29 beta).

I was going to file a bug about this behavior, since I was pinged by another localizer. 

This bug is marked as dupe of bug 980534, but it's still there: all long menu items are truncated with ellipsis. Is that a WONTFIX for Australis, or should I reopen this bug to see if a solution is available?

Is it really "still there"? If you look at the screenshot on this bug the text is actually cut off cut off - not nicely ellipsized.

I don't think we need to do anything about the ellipsis in the bookmarks menu for long bookmarks, and your comment isn't clear enough (maybe you mean something more like bug 1102710 ?) to indicate what's going on. Filing a new bug with clear STR, a better description and a screenshot would be the most productive way forward.

Not the clearest comment I ever made. I was referring to commands like "View History Sidebar", "Clear Recent History", etc. While English is only slightly affected, longer locales are a truncation festival in those subpanels. 

My request would probably be a dupe of bug 1102710 at this point.

Hmm. Maybe if we're systematically cutting things off we should investigate changing the width, especially for the standalone things like the bookmarks menu, which could be a separate bug.
