The contacts backup app will either provision an identity or sign in using user-provided credentials of some sort.  We want to store these credentials for re-use.  A DOM API for keychain management would be helpful.

A certified or privileged app would be able to access the keychain for a user signed into firefox accounts.  Access to a set of credentials would be granted on a per-app basis, with UI confirmation in other cases.

This could be a product all of its own; let's bear in mind that with this bug we're just trying to support a proof of concept :)

As FxOS is end of life this is very unlikey to happen, however there is Bug 1156047 which is a web API for doing exactly what you would be after here.
