Steps to reproduce:
1. Sign in with an existing Firefox account or "Clear data" from Android Apps menu for Firefox(if already signed in with a Firefox account)
2. Go to configure sync
Expected result:
You can choose what to sync(Bookmarks, History, Password, Open tabs)
Actual result:
The check boxes are greyed out and you can not choose what to sync
I think users should have the possibility to choose what to sync, when they are in the "Sign in" screen.

Hi Mihai,
There are two things going on here: when you can choose what to sync, and the check boxes being grayed out. Let me address the latter first: the check boxes are greyed until you successfully sync. After Bug 966104 (recently landed) and Bug 966105 (soon to land) are in place, those check boxes should un-grey much faster when you go to the Sync Status activity.
What to Sync is a global property of the Sync account; that is, all devices sync the same set of things. Putting the choose what to sync screen in the "Sign in" screen (like it is for the "Sign up" screen) would probably confuse users into thinking that what they sync is a local (per-device) choice. Since it's not, we don't show it. Our UX team has always argued that we need to stream-line the screens as much as possible too.
I'm going to leave this ticket for now, mark it as blocking Bug 984509, and we'll check back at the end of the 29/beginning of 30 cycles.
