128304 - Ability to toggle timestamps

It'd be really nice if you could toggle timestamps on an off in a channel,
especially when you've been gone a while or when you want to copy and paste the
log. Perhaps add a menu like "View->Timestamps". When toggled on, the channel
should show the time a message was received. Like this:

[14:12:42] <IRCMonkey> Here's a timestamp.

Even better would be to include a way to set the format string for the time stamp.

It would be even better, if timestamps were _always_ recorded and you could just
toggle if you'd like to see them (which defaults to off).

This way everything is as now, but when you have been away some time and come
back you can find out when something happened just by switching it temporarily on.

Unfortunately, I guess this is an option which needs to be implemented on IRC
servers as well... :(

you can see timestamps in the statusbar by hovering over a message.  No need to
get the IRC server involved.

Robert, thanks for the comment about the status bar. I wouldn't have noticed 
that. I take it this means that the timestamp data is already available on the 
client for all messages.

Robert, of course! I just had the status bar hidden since I did not see any
value in having it visible... ;)

Daniel Bachran, no, Tim is not satisfied. I still want to be able to toggle 
timestamps on as originally suggested for the following reasons:

1) Cut and paste including timestamps
2) Make the feature obvious (I doubt that most people know it's there already.)
3) Ability to see timestamps at a glance without "magic wand" mouse techniques.

These would all be covered by bug 112089.  Toggling is still a valid RFE,
though.  Marking dependency.

Chatzilla 0.9.54 is now available and has landed on the trunk (cvs). This should
have resolved this bug; if it has not, please reopen it.
