Reproducible on:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 (20140429030201) - latest Aurora
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0 (20140429030201) - latest Nightly

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Firefox
2. Open a new tab (Ctrl/Cmd+T; about:newtab; "+"button)
3. Select Bing or Amazon search engines from the search toolbar
4. The selected search engine icon is displayed in front of the search field - click on it twice (to open the search engine list and to close it)

Actual result:
A visual artifact is shortly displayed on the screen when closing the list

Expected result:
The list is hidden without flaws.

Notes: 1. Not reproducible on Mac OS 10.8.5 and Windows 8.1 64-bit.
2. The issue wasn't reproducible on try builds from 2014-04-08: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=962490#c41 so it's a recent regression.
It's an arrowpanel animation problem. Neil, have you seen this? The only similar bug I found was bug 994562, but it's not the same.
Flags: needinfo?(enndeakin)
It's probably related through. We plan on disabling the animation on Linux in bug 1001234 which will mitigate the issue in the short term.
Flags: needinfo?(enndeakin)
The issue is no longer reproducible starting with Nightly 2014-05-07.
