Horizontal tab strip[bug1014987] and tab panel[bug1014996] are two views of your tabs. They are designed to meet the users' browsing goals in different contexts.

Besides "tab panel" indicator on navigation bar, there should be a gestural shortcut to switch from viewport to tab panel. Big screen size is inviting for big gesture and we should take advantage of that.


It makes sense to apply a multi-finger grabbing gesture in this case. The gesture perfectly matches the motion we were trying to convey in this sprint prototype: http://cl.ly/image/0y3l3j1e1E3Q
