There has been some irc and email discussion about this, but let's make it formal. https://secure.pub.build.mozilla.org/builddata/buildjson/builds-4hr.js.gz This file is generated every minute, and contains 4 hours of build data. tbpl and, soon, treeherder depend on it. Because it's generated by a crontask, and crontasks are hard to make redundant, this causes the node where the crontask runs to become a SPOF. We can survive minutes of downtime (up to 30, I think), but this is still not good. The file also entails a lot of redundant data transfer, while the information it contains is also contained in the pulse messages. So, let's get rid of it, and use the pulse messages instead. This is pretty difficult, and I'll return with some linked bugs.
