People

(Reporter: daniel.feingold, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140605174243

Steps to reproduce:

I'm not sure what triggered the problem. I did several things before wanting to delete an email. I clicked a link in an email which opened a UPS tracking web page in Firefox. I also scrolled back and forth among my emails, viewing a few of them more than once.

Actual results:

When I first opened Thunderbird, I could delete unwanted emails by pressing the delete key. After the activity stated above, the delete key would not affect the selected email, though the delete button still worked
Thunderbird, which version are you using - 24, 30 beta, 31 beta?

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled
- win7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode
- http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode

Does problem go away?

The problem recurred after a Windows reboot following an error. The delete key wouldn't delete an email, but the delete button on the email did work. To clear Thunderbird's problem I restarted the computer; the delete key now works normally. The Windows error had come up when the computer was restarted from sleep mode. This happens occasionally with this laptop; some application isn't always happy with sleep mode.
