Recent builds of the tablet ui don't show the browser icon on the app screen, so there's no way to launch that application.

First noticed with a build of 2.1 master on 2014 August 27, but it probably broke a week or so earlier when we changed the browser app. Still present in today's 2.2 master.

Yes, this got me puzzled too.
In fact, you can still access the browser, by tapping in the top bar in any screen, and type your URL (or some search terms). It took me a while to figure out ;-)

I don't know if the missing icon has been done on purpose or not

This is probably a side-effect of not having vertical homescreen on those tablet builds, see also bug 1052080.

Bug 1059697 was filed first - and it's the same issue, so let's mark as a duplicate.

The browser icon is not present on the old home screen apparantly. I haven't tested this, but we're supposed to be shipping an icon for the search app, also called "Browser". I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up. I know we definitely don't have a migration for it, so I would think it should just get buried with the other apps.
