+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1067841 +++

We are observing few issues in Music app. Wants to confirm whether these are issue or FFOS implementation design.

Issue: Playback pauses at the end of the clip before starting of next clip
Description: here the playback pauses(UI pauses) at the end of the each clip before starting next clip
Summary: Music app functional issues → Music app functional issues - Track end pause
[Blocking Requested - why for this release]:
blocking-b2g: --- → 2.1?
QA Wanted to see if we can reproduce this on Flame KK 2.1

Comment 0 doesn't have enough detail for me to be totally sure what this is talking about, but I'm assuming this is talking about how there's a brief period of silence between songs (usually < 1 second). That's bug 907035 and is just a missing feature (since <audio> tags are very much *not* designed to allow for gapless playback).
Reporter - is the 'brief silence' between songs mentioned in the prior comment what you are seeing- or is it something else?

Hi Jim,
In short issue:
After clip ends it pauses and stay in same clip for say 100ms before switching to new music file

Issue looks same as per bug bug 907035 but,its happening every time and it looks like we are intentionally taking small pause after end of each song.Regardless of if there is another songs in queue .

Please check once on attached video for usecase clarity.

You're probably hitting the workaround we have in place for bug 783512 then.

I'd like to loop in the current owner of Audio/Visual to get some feedback on the expectation of the music app's transitions between songs - In my opinion anything under 1 second (100ms = 1/10 second) seems 'normal' for music apps on various devices.

OK?...... Guess I'll try and get UX to weigh in then.

Since Jim has mentioned that immediate back to back playback is not yet supported, I feel that the small pause inbetween songs we currently have is not a major issue. Overall I believe this bug is a nice to have and I would recommend to not block on this issue.

removing blocking flag based on comment 9

Sri,

Can you check to see if we add this to our music roadmap? We have been talking about gapless playback feature for a while -- perhaps something to tackle right after the refresh work. Adding 2.3?

Thanks
Hema

NI Stephany to consider this for 2.3

I agree with Jacqueline's comment #9. Nice to have, for later, especially given our 2.2 goals.

Use feature-b2g:3.0? rather than 2.3?.
feature-b2g: 2.3? → 3.0?
Fundamentally, this is the same issue as bug 990534 (although the exact amount of delay varies). Duping.
