Attached image ThunderbirdWarning.png
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/36.0.1985.125 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I tried to create a new account for our internal IMAP server. Naturally, I had to input the details manually. The "retest" button reported success. Then I clicked "finish". A warning appeared about unsecure properties, the "finish" button is disabled. Actual results: There was no "I understand the risks." checkbox, which would enable me to continue with the allegedly unsecure properties. See screenshot. The screenshot is german, but in safe mode and english the same happens. Since I cannot continue, I can only return back to configuring the account. This means it is impossible to setup and use the IMAP server. (Also Thunderbird seems to register the imap configuration nevertheless and complains if I try again, because this imap server is allegedly already used somewhere) Expected results: There should be a "I understand the risks." checkbox available.
I think there was another report of this too. (Also de locale IIRC)
Is there a workaround? Maybe disable the warning? Maybe edit config file directly?
I found a workaround: After inputting the details manually, do NOT click "finish". Instead click "Advanced config". This opens the options dialog and creates the account. No warning is displayed.

I think that bug is about a different issue. This is about the checkbox not appearing on the page. In bug 786139 the user never gets to that page.

Yes, I've also seen a report of this recently. Probably bug 812750. I think this should be easy to fix, we just need a way to reproduce it. I do not want to show the "I understand the risks." while we do not understand what is happening, why the dialog is even up when it shows not real error.

Have you tried to use an existing SMTP server instead of creating a new one?

Likely dupe of bug 1048791.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to reproduce it now. I'm not working there anymore and have no access to that internal server anymore.

Thanks for the update. Let's assume Magnus is correct about the duplicate
