A survey of users with the latest version of Firefox on the download page (mozilla.org/firefox/new) found that 57% were trying to fix a problem and 34% were trying to update. To better address the major use-case we're going to provide a Refresh button (along with a download link) to up-to-date Firefox users on this page. We should also implement this on the Firefox product support page https://support.mozilla.org/products/firefox The basic experience would work like this: 1. A user determines that something is wrong with Firefox. 2. They go to Firefox support page to get help. 3. If they already have the latest version of Firefox, we display a Refresh Firefox button along "download a fresh copy" link. 4. The user clicks the Refresh button and our existing Refresh feature is invoked. More info: Bug 1062345

See bug 1087856 also. A working "Refresh Firefox" button was added to "Template:resetsteps" for fx35 and is already being used in KB articles: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/templateresetsteps/links Discussion: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/templateresetsteps/discuss/5823 Fx35 - new button https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/knowledge-base-articles/710972 Refresh button

I thought we were going to let mozilla.org determine if they were on the latest .x version of Firefox and they could offer the refresh and other options over there?

(In reply to Ricky Rosario [:rrosario, :r1cky] from comment #3) > I thought we were going to let mozilla.org determine if they were on the > latest .x version of Firefox and they could offer the refresh and other > options over there? Yes mozilla.org will do this but we want to do it on sumo too for the users who enter here (we also want to avoid showing them a download button on sumo that takes them to a refresh button on mozilla.org).

Here's a mockup of the refresh button with a "How does it work?" link to https://support.mozilla.org/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems and a "Download a fresh copy" link that goes to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
