User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0 Build ID: 20141013200257 Steps to reproduce: I tried to subsribe to a new RSS feed. Right click on "Blogs & News Feeds" then left click on "Subscribe". Feed URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/klaire/XacY Left click on "Add". Actual results: The following message was displayed : "The feed URL is not valid" Left click on "Verify the validity of the Feed URL" : http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A//feeds.feedburner.com/klaire/XacY The following message was displayed : "Congratulations! This is a valid RSS feed." Expected results: I should have been able to subscribe to this RSS feed (it is possible to do so within Firefox). The feed validator also displayed: "This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations [...] line 5, column 10: title should not be blank". That is why I think Thunderbird doesn't like to subscribe to a RSS feed with no title. Would it be possible to bypass this bug by assigning a default title when no title is provided ? In Firefox, the default title is the feed URL.
No, title is mandatory and the publisher needs to fix it. See also the error console. Lack of unique id/link causes duplication problems in Tb in ways that do not affect Fx.
