As discussed in bug 971313, Dutch is currently missing a protocol handler for feeds on Android.

Also noticed that is not shipping Bing or Yahoo!, which are required for new setups. We should probably check and discuss the current list of shipping searchplugins, which is definitely short (google, wikipedia, bol.com).

On Desktop you're currently using My Yahoo as feed reader. One possible addition could be NetVibes.

Regarding the list of searchplugins, I've just realized that there's no Dutch version of Yahoo. Is that correct?

I’m not sure about using Netvibes for feeds as it doesn’t offer a Dutch UI, but when using the URL http://www.netvibes.com/subscribe.php?url=%s it does return Dutch text, so it looks like it could be used. If so, may even prior to Yahoo, like fr does.

Regarding Yahoo as search plugin: the web site doesn’t offer a Dutch UI - there is a be version for the website though (Flemish), but I’m not sure if it’s wise to use any Flemish things for nl anyway when no nl version is available. But as http://nl.search.yahoo.com/ does exist, it looks like we could use Yahoo nl.

Not sure about how local redirects work and deciding which ones to choose. Also wonder if we could switch Yahoo and Gmail for mail handlers. Tim?

I created a test version here of Yahoo using nl.search.yahoo.com, it seems to work fine

It's temporarily called "Yahoo NL" so that it can be installed together with an existing Yahoo for testing purposes.

Besides NetVibes, the only service I see used in other locales as feed reader is Bloglines.

fix this in time? there is not yet a consensus about what the list must be and then we have to make a patch and ask for permission...

@Tim: It was just a question about whether you could, and there was a week left before release at that time. I also gave my opinion in comment 2 and you were the one to decide on what handlers to include IIRC. Are you or would you still like to be involved in this?

Hi everyone, is there any update about this bug? Is everyone OK with just adding Yahoo+Netvibes as protocol handler, and in case consider other changes to searchplugins in separate bugs?

I have no intention to argue nor to violate the netiquette, but since you quit contributing to l10n as of 02-07-15, it would have been nice and appropriate if this bug was taken care of properly, as well as bug 1075577. Both were your reponsibility at the time, so you were kindly asked to decide/reply here as well as by email in reply to your announcement to quit.

Since Wim is not coordinating l10n either, let’s say I’m fine with adding Yahoo + Netvibes.
