Build: 7/30/99 SeaMonkey build Dan and I have talked already about the need to have error reporting from the Install.log file. RESULT: When a trigger fails and is not a crash, the Install.log always shows: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://jimbob/jars/whatever.jar -- 08/03/1999 12:03:08 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finished Installation 08/03/1999 12:03:08 EXPECTED RESULT: The "Finished Installation" message is misleading. The triggered jar failed, but it does not specify the cause of the failure. We need to interpret the following types of errors: 1. Line noise 2. Triggering a file that is not a jar-type file 3. Triggering a jar file that has an install script missing 4. Server error (ie url to nothing)
Summary: Need improved error reporting from Install.log → [feature] Need improved error reporting from Install.log
I'm not sure why this is assigned to me. This probably belongs to Dan. CC'ing Dan to see what he thinks.

This one is detail for 9604. Prossibly should be assigned to me, but really could be done by anyone once 9604/8138 is hooked up.

The basic bug is fixed, but I'll leave open as a reminder to try to turn some of the numeric status reports into numbers. e.g. "Download Error" would be better than -229.
